adoration & the like

for a long time now i have dreamt of managing fashion events and was planning to do a diploma in event management after my current arts degree, this week i came to the (fairly obvious) realization that event management is actually a part of Fashion Public relations - pretty silly considering i have seen fashion pr girls ie. lauren conrad and whitney port plannning events continuously. so anyway i just looked into FBI fashion school, fashion business certificate and although i've heard that the one year course is very broad i've also heard it is great for work experience placements, this would mean a move to sydney which i have also come to realize is pretty necessary if i want to get a promising career in fashion pr... although its probably a year or two off i'm still sad that i'll have to leave melbourne..i love this city!

Has anybody done fashion business at FBI or know anyone who has? opinions please.

we're here to skool you

so i realize this is a really delayed post on Proenza Schouler SS10 but i just became more and more in love with the collection the more i saw it and just this morning i realized that proenza actually looks like the sort of style i was predicting avatar would inspire..obviously Lazaro and Jack would have designed the pieces well before the film came out but i just found it interesting..

they are adorable, round of applause! can't wait to see what they do next!

we. share. the. same. obsession.

Uly of fashionisfuelledbyobsession.blogspot.com is an amazing stylist and the girl has a killer wardrobe!

avatar 3d

Anniemal's post on avatar got me all inspired... just got back from the movie and it was amazing, my favourite movie by far.my brother pointed out that the plot is very similar to pocahontas but seeing as i havent seen pocahontas i dont even care.. the story, characters, music and effects were perfect..i especially loved the vibrant colours of the forest and the little creatures that spun which were like fireflies..amazingly beautiful..

I can definitely see how avatar could inspire fashion and beauty trends. the braided hair with feather and leather wrap detailing:

the vibrant colours are sure to have an impact on future prints:

also call me crazy but i really think Carmen from Storm Models looks a lot like Neytiri, i think it may be the nose..

oh and couldn't do an avatar post without a quick pic of Sam Worthington! If you haven't seen him in somersault check it out, great film
