how, i am blazing fire

So i went to a Wild West themed cocktail night last week, as an indian. I made my dress out of some taupe material and some metallic and fringed trim. So the first time i sewed it may have been skin tight around my butt and thighs, had to add some material to the sides so i could walk and dance in it, oops! Added a diva plaited suede hair wrap with peacock feather detail and some fringing tied round my wrists and i was set. There were a couple other indians there and the indian chief - my friend darby - named me blazing fire and gave me an axe to cause some trouble with as well as a feather as a 'rite of passage' haha. Such a fun night! am planning to make a neutral coloured maxi skirt with the excess material..

The Jeremy Scott original, black velvet dress with silver crosses

the DIY i wrote about the other day.

i used a minkpink blue velvet dress and sew on jewels from spotlight. i didn't do as many because i felt it looked better, but that's just my opinion.

i cropped my face from this one due to having crazy eyes in it haha..

i actually took all these pics in the dress tonight as when i wore it out on thurs all the photos with me and my friends aren't really showing all of the dress and detail. and i'm also wearing absolutely no makeup in all these so thats why i am looking sooo washed out haha

but anyway I'm really happy with how it turned out :)

so this weekend is looking like it'll be pretty quiet, i have things i could be going to tonight but the couch is looking a little more inviting than the cold outside. Last night i was at the football, saints vs cats, and my lovely saints won, convincingly. hopefully that can quieten some of the saints critics who think no reiwoldt no saints.

Today i did some diy-ing finished a skirt i've been meaning to make and hopefully get that leopard cross from the pic below done later tonight.

Sass and Bide diy dress

i diy'd this dress by using the top of a body-con tank dress i hadn't worn in ages, made a gathered skirt in blush and connected the two using extra material from the original black dress for the triangle part, bought some studs for the top detailing and black velvet ribbon trim for the crossover straps and 1.2.3. easy sass and bide look-alike :) the material of the skirt isn't quite as good quality as the original but for a total of $50 compared to a rrp for the sass and bide one of around $600 (?) beggars can't be choosers... i wore the dress to my uni law ball and a girl in the original came up and complimented me on the dress. when i told her i had made it for under $50 she was so shocked

Went shopping today saw some really cool pieces in sportsgirl, a short sleeve breton tee with shoulder pads so easy to make for way less than $50.... black dress with beaded/gem detail shoulders, easy peesy less than $130.. and portmans black corset top with twisted detail and studs/diamantes.. can def do that for under $130.. leaving me enough money for my extravagant exchange trip :)
